New CEO

Join us in welcoming Simon Matthias as CEO of AANT

On the behalf of the AANT council, I’m pleased to announce Simon Matthias has commenced as the CEO of AANT.

Simon brings more than 20 years’ experience in senior management and leadership in member-based organisations, including renowned foundations – Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and Leukaemia Foundation of Australia.

His exceptional leadership skills, strategic insights, and extensive marketing experience make him the ideal choice to lead AANT.

In his previous role as Director of Advancement at Charles Darwin University, Simon successfully conducted CDU’s external engagement program including stakeholder stewardship, community engagement, alumni relations, industry partnerships and government and philanthropic grants.

“I’m exciting to join an organisation that has been part of the Territory way of life for 6 decades,” said Simon. “As we mark our 60th birthday, it’s an excellent opportunity for the team to write the next chapter of our story, with our members at the heart of it.”

Simon is actively engaged and involved in the local Darwin community through his passion for sport, particularly cricket and AFL.

On the behalf to the AANT council, we are delighted to have Simon lead us toward continued growth and sustainability in the future, with a key focus on elevating our member experience and offering.

Simon Matthias commenced work with AANT on Wednesday 27 September 2023.
